Retreat Agriculture, located in the beautiful and sought after area of Robertson in the Boland region, is looking for a hands-on Fruit Farm Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate is hard working, deadline driven and diligent, with strong management and interpersonal skills (Afrikaans & English).
The successful candidate will report to the Owner and will be responsible for the full farming function, which includes the following: *Management of all production processes (pruning, thinning, irrigation, fertilization, chemical crop protection, harvesting, etc.) *Maintenance management *Personnel management *Record keeping and compilation of production reports *Management of the production budget *Management of operating costs *Quality management and all other tasks relevant to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- Matric required, a tertiary qualification in agriculture will be to the candidate's advantage;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in fruit farming;
- Previous citrus, pome and stone fruit, and vineyard farming experience advantageous;
- Some mechanical and maintenance experience essential;
- Excellent computer literacy (MS Office);
- Valid driver's license (PDP & EC1).
As part of the package, a house on the property can be included.
